Honoring Robbie: A Legacy of Love and Giving
In August of 2023, Robbie was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. We were devastated by the news, but we chose to stay positive. Unlike other cancers, melanoma has limited treatment options, especially once it has spread throughout the body. As the months passed, each new update brought increasingly difficult news. The cancer spread rapidly throughout his body during several different treatments.
On April 5th, 2024, Robbie passed away after being rushed to the ER. I knew his time was limited, but I never imagined it would be so short because we were told Robbie had several weeks to live. For my daughters and myself, his death felt like a car accident—shocking and sudden. They said goodnight to their father, and by morning, he was gone. Since losing Robbie, I have been searching for meaningful ways to honor his memory and continue his legacy of helping others. That’s how Robbie’s Playbook was born — a platform to keep his spirit alive and continue sharing his generosity.
Robbie was passionate about giving back. He and I often found unique community organizations to support, donating several times a year. We believed in helping those in need, and I want to keep that tradition alive. Our community is filled with incredible nonprofits that make a difference, and Robbie’s Playbook will help these organizations honor his memory through ongoing support.
Another part of Robbie's Playbook will be sharing small snippets from his journal entries. He recorded his thoughts and aspirations almost every day. His writings are filled with wisdom and kindness, inspiring me and everyone who reads them. Through this platform, I hope to share his words of encouragement and his unwavering strive to be better each day.
Words cannot fully express how much I miss him. The gap he leaves feels unfillable, but Robbie’s Playbook offers a way to honor him—by sharing his story, his values, and his ongoing impact.
In his phone, Robbie kept a “Goal List,” one of his goals being to “Develop daughters who are faith-filled, hard-working, intelligent, respectful, and moral contributors to society.” I believe that through this organization, his dream for our daughters—and for others—will continue to grow.
Thank you for being part of Robbie’s legacy.
Love,
Meaghan McMenomy
